Although Elvis died more than 20 years ago, he is still famous and known as "The King of Rock 'n' Roll". Elvis had the most number one hit songs and attracted fans from all over the world.

Before Elvis became an artist he had a totally different job. The 18-year-old Elvis, living in Memphis, Tennessee, was a truck driver before he started his singing career. In 1953, during one of his lunch breaks, he went to the studio of Sun Records to record two songs as a present for his mother's birthday. This unusual birthday present didn't make Elvis famous, because the studio owner, Sam Philips, was not impressed. Only one year later, when Elvis returned to the studio and recorded the song "That's Alright Mama", Philips understood that Elvis was the next star.

By 1955, Elvis had recorded 5 songs for Sun Records and had become popular in the southern U.S.A.. As a result of his choice to take a new manager, Colonel Tom Parker, quickly Elvis had fans all over the world and became the biggest star ever known.

Elvis was not only a singer, but also took part in different movies, like "Love Me Tender" and "Jailhouse Rock". Because of his special voice, in most of his movies, he had to sing as part of his role.

Unfortunately, in 1977, Elvis died as a result of an overdose of drugs. Maybe because of his early death, Elvis has become a legend. Until today, thousands of fans travel to Elvis' home, Graceland, in Memphis to remember "The King". There are still fans that can't believe that Elvis is dead, because they love him so much. These fans believe that Elvis is still alive and is living somewhere in the world.
